Everthing that you will find in this blog is about a small recreation area that we purchased in Hill County Texas close to Lake Whitney. We purchased because it was a good investment and we enjoy the outdoors. Being that it is close to the lake we can enjoy some fishing and have a place to retreat to when the city noise getts to loud. It gives us the feeling we are far away from the metroplex even though it is just an hour and 20 minute drive.
The Property- 7 acres of post oaks and very thorny vines that create a dence tangled mess that resembles a jungle war movie.
Issues- Besides the vines, the property was being used as a dog breeding facility. The prior owners built a reasonable barn to house the dogs and used a 62′ x 12′ mobile home to house pregnant or ill animals. Wasp, roaches, rats, and lady bugs moved in as well. Undesirable items such as mattresses, washing machines swamp coolers, old fencing and such found themselves located in the dry creek that runs through the property. We have a little trash to pick up.
